Details: | For the 17th year in a row, we'll gather in the CMU Fabiano Botanical Garden, beginning at sunrise (7:41 a.m.) and we'll take turns reading the Deathbed Edition of Walt Whitman's classic Leaves of Grass, from beginning to end (or as far as we get...). Bring a copy of Leaves of Grass if you have one—or it's available for free online, and I'll have extra copies!—a blanket or lawn chair, and join us for a full day of YAWP-ing. Feel free to read with us, or just lean back and loafe, observing a spear of (autumn) grass. Invite some friends! It's an inspiring, relaxing day on the campus lawn. In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed one week, to Friday, October 11. |
