Vice President/Finance and Administrative Services

Barrie Wilkes joined CMU in 1992 as the university controller.
In October 2005, he became interim associate vice president of financial services and reporting and controller, an appointment that became permanent in October 2006. He was named Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services in October of 2013. ​​
Wilkes served as payroll manager, student accounts manager and assistant manager of accounting at Michigan State University and worked as a staff auditor at BDO Seidman, before coming to CMU.
Wilkes currently serves as treasurer for CMU Medical Education Partners and CMU Research Corporation (CMURC). He also has served as interim president of CMURC, a business accelerator. 

He is also a board member on the Mid-Michigan Development Corporation and the Local Development Finance Authority as well as a committee member on the President’s Council State Universities of Michigan/Business Affairs Officer Committee, CMU/City of Mt. Pleasant Liaison Committee and a Finance Committee Member for the Michigan University Self Insurance Corporation (M.U.S.I.C.).  

He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Michigan State University.
