The Finance and Administrative Services Division initially began the strategic planning process in early January 2004 by gathering data through a comprehensive, online survey. Respondents answered questions regarding institutional, divisional and department purpose, values, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

FAS improvement areas and critical success factors were intensely scrutinized; yet, the division remains dedicated to its key purpose - to ensure the integrity of both the financial and human capital of the institution.
As a result of the survey data, multiple planning sessions, and feedback from divisional staff, a plan was developed that set the direction and priorities by which the FAS division measured its success in meeting its mission and achieving its vision. That plan is reviewed and updated on an annual basis, and serves as a guide for future activities of the division.
