Successful
annual prequalification is required for vendors before providing asbestos related
on-site services to Central Michigan University (CMU).
Prequalification is not currently required for other Risk Management, Environmental Health & Safety (RMEH&S) related
services; however, a review of vendor qualifications (certifications,
accreditations, insurance, etc.) will be required. Prequalification information can be found
below.
Prequalification
Contractors
and consultants interested in providing asbestos related services to Central
Michigan University must first be prequalified by the Department of
Risk Management, Environmental Health & Safety. Prequalified contractors
and consultants will be approved for the 2019 calendar year and will need to
reapply each year to maintain prequalification status. A current list of
prequalified contractors and consultants can be found in the Asbestos Management Plan.
Only prequalified contractors and consultants
are permitted to provide asbestos related services to CMU. Additionally,
only prequalified contractors and consultants will be invited when CMU bids projects.
However, successful prequalification does not specifically guarantee work with
CMU.
CMU will determine the final list of
prequalified contractors and consultants. CMU is not responsible for any
expenses incurred in the preparation of this prequalification application nor
does CMU assume any contractual obligation by issuing this application. CMU may
elect to interview contractors or request additional information. CMU
reserves the right to reject any and all submittals either in whole or in part
and to waive any irregularities. Please be aware that submittals may be
subject to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) records request pursuant to MCL
Sections 15.231 to 15.246.
To apply for prequalification, contractors and
consultants must complete the appropriate Initial Prequalification
Application. Contractors and consultants who are applying to renew their
prequalification status may complete the appropriate renewal prequalification
application and are not required to resubmit the initial application.
Please
note that successful prequalification requires the review and compliance with CMU's Asbestos Management Plan. While a review of the entire document is
recommended, the following sections contain information which applies
specifically to contractors and/or consultants:
