CMU Choices

All benefit election changes MUST be made during the enrollment period and will be binding for the 2015-16 plan year, July 1, 2015 - June 30, 2016.

Computer workstations are available in Rowe 109, Ronan lab, Woldt lab, and in the Park Library.

CMU announces changes, upgrades in health plans

As reported in the 2014 FY Health Care & Wellness Report, our health care costs continue to rise. With the help of the health care committee, CMU regularly reviews ways to control costs - making necessary health plan changes along the way - while maintaining an excellent benefit program for our employees.  Detailed list of changes



NEW!   Review your dependents for 2015-16. New reporting requirements under Health Care Reform make it necessary for you to provide the Social Security number of each dependent you cover on your medical plan.

What Else Should I Consider?

  • Review Current Beneficiaries - beneficiaries can be updated at any time in the "Current Year" of CMU Choices.
  • ​Verify Eligibility of Covered Family Members - do you need to add or drop a covered dependent?  Click HERE more information regarding eligibility criteria.  
  • Budget for Health Care Expenses - have you considered a Flexible Spending Account? FSA elections must be made each year during Open Enrollment.  For more information on FSA's click HERE.
  • Review your Life and Disability​ Insurance needs.  Certain changes in Life and Disability elections require an Evidence of Insurability.
  • Choosing Wisely - review consumer health document regarding what questions to ask when your doctor wants to order tests.

 Important Info

Flexible Spending Account (FSA):     Elections MUST be made during Open Enrollment. Employees who do not make FSA elections during Open Enrollment will not have an FSA for the 2015-16 plan year.

REMINDER:

Up to $500 of unspent 2014-15 health FSA funds will be automatically rolled over from 2014-15 to 2015-16 benefit year.

Dental: 

This is a CLOSED dental election year.  You can make dental changes again during the 2016-17 open enrollment.
