​Here's an introduction to 2018-19 Virgin Pulse wellness partners:

  • My Pulse health risk survey: The new online survey replaces the previous year's online health risk assessment (HRA). It provides a snapshot of overall health and links seamlessly with Virgin Pulse to drive optimal health and well-being. Complete it once a year (July 1-June 30) and earn up to 1,000 PulsePoints, 500 apiece for the heart age survey and lifestyle score survey.
  • Higi: A convenient way to measure blood pressure, pulse, weight and body mass index, the free service tracks progress and awards 500 PulsePoints a month for checking in at a higi health monitoring station. Nearly 11,000 health stations are located nationwide.
  • Whil: Digital programs focused in mindfulness, mediation, yoga and leadership can help reduce stress in as little as a minute with training videos that vary in length depending on needs and available time. Get daily prompts when you choose this as a healthy habit. Find it under the "Programs" tab on the Virgin Pulse account homepage.
  • Journeys: The new digital coaching tool helps improve health one step at a time. Personalized pathways support health habits: stress less, move more, eat better, cut back on alcohol, quit smoking, manage diabetes, improve musculoskeletal health and get financially fit.  Find it under the "Programs" tab on the Virgin Pulse account homepage.

The Hartford, CMU's life and disability insurance carrier, offers value-added benefits:

  • EstateGuidance will preparation: Create a customized and legally binding will online. EstateGuidance also provides an online education center and support from a licensed attorney. Additional services include creating living wills and trusts, and guidance about divorce and durable power of attorney.
  • Funeral planning and concierge services: Online tools include detailed local funeral home price comparisons, 24/7 assistance with funeral planning and the only nationwide database of funeral home prices. This service includes family advocacy and professional negotiation of funeral prices with local providers, which often results in significant financial savings. In addition, Express Pay can expedite claims payments and deliver benefits in as little as 48 hours.
  • Beneficiary Assist® counseling: Expert support to cope with emotional, financial and legal issues after a loss. This includes unlimited 24/7 phone contact with professionals and five face-to-face sessions on topics such as grief and loss, job pressures, stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship/marital conflicts.
  • Travel Assistance: Receive pre-trip information to feel safe and secure while traveling. This includes information about whether a visa or passport is required, immunization or inoculation requirements, foreign exchange rates, and embassy referrals. It also provides access to medical professionals across the globe when traveling more than 100 miles from home for up to 90 days.
  • ID Theft Protection: Available 24/7 whether at home or away, ID Theft Protection offers educational materials on preventing identity theft and access to caseworkers who can help resolve problems that result from it.

  • Employee Assistance Program: EAP services provide confidential support for issues that may impact work or personal life. Professional confidential support is provided by telephone, face-to-face or online to assist with life difficulties.
  • Encompass Work-Life: Take advantage of comprehensive work-life consultation; educational materials; and referrals for such things as child care, adoption, elder care, daily living and wellness. Work-Life includes access to web resources including consultants, locators for child and elder care, a learning center, relocation center, resource library, and health tools.   • Wellness Coaching: A new benefit offering, the Central Health Improvement Program (CHIP) facility now provides wellness coaching to help you find the motivation and tools to reach your goals. Goals might include losing weight, being more physically active, eating better, lowering stress or improving sleep. A wellness coach will offer guidance, support and accountability. Coaching is available in person and by telephone or email.
  • Naturally Slim: The $195 employee-paid online program through Virgin Pulse wellness rewards helps participants lose weight and improve overall health while eating the foods they love.
