Personal Leave

With Pay

All hourly employees with a 100% appointment are eligible for three (3) paid personal days per calendar year.

Because a salaried staff member's duties are not tied to a strict hourly schedule, no specific amount of personal leave is granted. Absences are to be reported in one-half (1/2) day increments and charged as approved leave with pay.

Without Pay

All staff employees are eligible for a personal leave without pay for up to 3 or 4 months, depending on the employee group. Leaves may be extended for an additional 3 or 4 months, depending on the employee group, but not to exceed 1 year (except for PA and SO, not to exceed a total of 3 years).

Leaves may be granted for personal reasons such as education, settlement of an estate, adoption or placement of a child, serious health condition of a family member, but not for the purpose of obtaining employment elsewhere.
