Pay Band 6

This band includes directors of large multi-functional units, as well as equivalent positions recognized with executive levels of authority or consequence such as the Executive Asst. to the Pres/Sec to the Board of Trustees.  Included in the P&A-6 band also are a specialized group of positions such as executive level health care practitioners (i.e. Physician, Assoc Dire/Med Svs., Dir. Health Care Programs).  Assignment to the band recognizes value added to the University based on prior knowledge and skills as a practicing professional or administrator within a certain industry.  The P&A-6 band may be expanded to include unique and varied executive level administrative positions where market data and job responsibilities warrant classifying at a P&A-6 level.

Job responsibilities may include administration and direction of all aspects of the large multi-functional department; assessment, evaluation, and implementation of major programs and projects; development and communication of university wide policies and procedures; management, planning, organization of multi-functional staff efforts.  Responsible for the development and control of the substantial departmental budgets and resources.

Jobs in this band have direct responsibility for overall administration of management policies for large multi-functional units/departments.  The breadth and scope of responsibilities are varied and require an ability to draw upon resources from a number of different units.  Substantial decision making related to complex management policies and general business operations typically having long-term effects and impacting a broad constituency.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master's Degree in related field and six to eight years of increasingly responsible professional experience that is directly related administrative experience.
