With Pay
All hourly employees with a 100% appointment are eligible for three (3) paid personal days per calendar year.
Because
a salaried staff member's duties are not tied to a strict hourly
schedule, no specific amount of personal leave is granted. Absences are
to be reported in one-half (1/2) day increments and charged as approved
leave with pay.
Without Pay
All staff employees are eligible for a personal leave without
pay for up to three (3) or four (4) months, depending on the employee
group. Leaves may be extended for an additional three (3) or (4) months,
depending on the employee group, but not to exceed one (1) year (except
for PA and SO, not to exceed a total of three (3) years).
Leaves
may be granted for personal reasons such as education, settlement of an
estate, adoption or placement of a child, serious health condition of a
family member, etc. but not for the purpose of obtaining employment
elsewhere.
