Leadership Excellence II Electives

Program Overview

Although open to all, the Leadership Excellence II Electives are specifically designed with the Leadership Excellence (LE) graduates in mind.  Unlike the original 9-week series, these offerings can be taken individually on an as needed basis.  Our first offering under the LE II banner was 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (summer of 2007).  Since then, 3 to 4 LE II workshops have been offered each year to support the development needs of leaders on campus.

2013-2014 Offerings

Mastering Your Workday with Outlook and Email
Tuesday, January 21st , 9:00 am – 12:30, UC Maroon/Gold/Chippewa rooms
Use your Outlook to get better organized, prioritized, and productive each and every day.  Randy will not only show you how to better manage your e-mail and calendar, but also how to make sure that your key projects, priorities, and goals are better represented in your Outlook, leading to a smarter daily plan for continuous, focused productivity.  Randy will show how to set up critical data points in your Outlook Calendar, Notes, Tasks, and Contacts that will help you better manage each day and each week, working toward bigger goals while also still handling the day-to-day aspects of your work.  You will learn a new routine for starting each day that will help you have better confidence that your calendar and personal task list are pointing you in the correct direction.  You will also learn (or re-learn!) many important tips and techniques for all five of your Outlook functions, leading to greater daily efficiency.  Finally feel on top of your e-mail and related activities, rather than feeling it is on top of you!  Register online at CentraLink/My Account/My Work Day/EmployeeTraining.

Smart Phones & Terrific Tablets: Gaining Productivity (and Fun!) from Your Personal Devices
Tuesday, January 21st, 1:30-4:00pm, UC Maroon/Gold/Chippewa rooms
You know which apps are fun, but what apps and functions will help you turn your Droid, IPhone/IPad, and/or BlackBerry into a productivity workhorse? In this session, we'll discuss the apps and peripheral devices that help take your Smart Phone (and tablets) from "cool" to "critical" when it comes to productivity, time, project, people, and e-mail management as well as "remote" productivity. A highlight to this program is when the presenter, Randy Dean, opens up the floor to program participants to share their favorite apps, allowing people to gain knowledge from all program attendees.Register online at CentraLink/My Account/My Work Day/EmployeeTraining.
