Exceptions

The exceptions to the tobacco-free policy include:

  • The use of tobacco products will be permitted for research or educational purposes approved by the Institutional Review Board or the Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee.
  • Tobacco products are permitted in Moore Hall theaters, the Kiva and Warriner Auditorium when called for by the director as part of the theater production. Only specific characters during rehearsals and performances may use tobacco products. The appropriate department in charge of the production will notify Human Resources at 989-774-2010 when tobacco products will be used in a show.
  • Tobacco use may be permitted for religious rituals and ceremonies, as well as cultural or ethnic events, in places rented or approved for these activities.
