Cessation Resources

​According to the Department of Health and Human Services, tobacco use remains the most preventable cause of death and disease in our society, resulting in 443,000 deaths each year.

If you or someone you know currently uses tobacco products and would like to quit, there are resources available, many of which are free. Learn more from the following:

CAMPUS RESOURCES 

  • Encompass (CMU Employee Assistance Program) - This benefit is available to all CMU faculty and staff and members of their household.  Cessation resources are available online, on-site and on-call at 1-800-788-8630.
  • Quit Tobacco Digital Health Assistant  - The Quit Tobacco Digital Health Assistant is an online coaching program that helps members set small, achievable goals they commit to one week at a time. Choose activities, create plans and track your progress. The Digital Health Assistant program is available to CMU employees and dependents enrolled in a CMU Blue Cross Blue Shield medical plan. It’s part of Blue Cross® Heath & Wellness, powered by WebMD®.
