Chief's Greeting

The Central Michigan University Police Department works in partnership with the entire university community to maintain a safe, secure and orderly living and learning environment. The CMU Police Department offers a diverse group of highly trained sworn police officers who are certified by the State of Michigan, and continually work to earn the trust and respect of the community.

Our department participates in cooperative efforts with other area police agencies, maintaining close working relationships with Mount Pleasant Police Department, Michigan State Police, Isabella County Sheriff's Department, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police and Shepherd Police Department.

In addition to traditional police responsibilities, our department offers many other services, from speaking to student groups to providing night time escorts. We hope this page is useful in providing more detailed information on campus safety and the services our department offers.

We work very hard at keeping our campus safe, while also continuing to be a very service-oriented department. With the help of the university community, we have had much success at both.

William Yeagley
