Parking ServicesFACULTY/STAFF PRE-REGISTRATION (in effect
April 1st the through first week of fall semester classes)


Beginning April 1st, the ONLINE VEHICLE REGISTRATION Pre-registration form will be available for all Faculty/Staff to register their vehicle for the upcoming academic year parking permit. Those who wish to purchase a summer parking permit ONLY will need to come to the CMU Police Department/ Parking Services Office during SUMMER business hours (Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm).

In order to pre-register for your parking permit, you will need your CMU Global ID and password. Upon signing in your name, status (Faculty/Staff), permanent home address and Campus ID will automatically be provided. In the event your permanent home address has changed, please edit appropriately.

When pre-registering for your parking permit, your FALL employment (campus address) will be required. In the event your campus address has changed, please edit appropriately.

REGISTRATION REQUESTS received April 1st to July 31st

Online registrations received between April 1st and July 31st will be processed and permits will be mailed to the Faculty/Staff members CAMPUS address beginning August 1st.

REGISTRATION REQUESTS received August 1st through the first week of fall semester classes.

Online registrations received August 1st and through the end of the first week of the fall semester, will be provided a temporary parking permit at the bottom of your receipt to print and display. Temporary permits will be valid in designated lot(s) printed on your temporary permit ONLY through the 2nd week of classes. Please display your temporary permit until you receive your permanent parking permit by CAMPUS MAIL. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for processing.

If you selected payment option of PAYROLL DEDUCTION, the first payment will be deducted in September and end in December, total deducted in eight consecutive pays. Temporary employees will not be eligible for payroll deduction.

If your payment option is WINDOW PAYMENT, your parking permit will automatically be held for pickup at the Parking Services Office during regular business hours (Monday - Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm).

In the event you separate from CMU before the beginning of the academic year, you MUST CANCEL YOUR PARKING PERMIT request by contacting the CMU Parking Services Office by phone (989) 774-3083 or email us at parking@cmich.edu. Please indicate you have separated from CMU and request to cancel your parking permit. FAILURE to contact the Parking Services Office will result in the processing of your academic year parking permit and associated charges.
