Some common sticking points:

  • You started your application but didn't submit it.
  • You're not sure how to finance your education.
  • Something is missing, and you need help.
  • You were accepted but haven't enrolled.

You started your application but didn't submit it.

  • We keep your online application open for a full year. You can go back and finish it anytime during that year.
  • It's been over one year. You can start a new application at
  • Forgot your password? No problem. Go to and log in. Using the email you used before, click "Forgot your password?"
  • Just not sure what to do. Our New Student Services representatives have helped thousands of students fill out their application.

Not sure how to finance your education?

  • Undergraduate transfer students applying to CMU also are applying for our transfer scholarships.  If you qualify, you could earn thousands of dollars toward your tuition!
  • Once you have applied to CMU, you can use Scholarship Universe to apply for hundreds of scholarships available only to CMU students.
  • If you need loans to help pay for college, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. It shows you what federal grants and loans you can get. CMU's school code is 002243.

  • Haven't paid your application fee?

    Go back to your online application and log in to pay electronically. Call 989-774-3618 and pay over the phone. Or mail your fee to:

  • Need to attach a document?

    Some programs require additional information when you apply. You attach these as PDFs or JPGs to your online application.
  • Missing transcripts?

    Official transcripts are sent by the schools you attended. You get in touch with them and have your transcripts submitted electronically to or mailed to CMU at:

Several services are available to help you get your official transcripts.

You were accepted but haven't enrolled.

  • Congratulations and welcome to CMU! You can set up your Global ID and CMU email account for 30 days after you were admitted.
  • If it's been more than 30 days, you'll just need to contact our Help Desk for assistance.
  • Getting these set up will unlock access to sign up for your classes. Our faculty and staff are here to help you succeed. You can do it. We'll be with you every step of the way.
