Amy McPike

Academic Advisor

Amy McPike I'm a Michigan girl, born and raised, and am so happy to be back home at CMU!

After completing my MACRAO course requirements at Delta College, I transferred to Central Michigan University and graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Interpersonal & Public Communication and double-minoring in Psychology and Human Development. While at CMU I served as a Resident Assistant and worked as a student employee for Academic Advising, and those experiences motivated me to pursue a career in higher education, particularly in the student services area.

After completing my undergraduate degree, I earned my Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University. I spent five years at SVSU serving as a Resident Director, working mainly with first-year students and coordinated their first-year leadership living/learning community. In 2010 I became the Coordinator of Campus Life and New Student Orientation at Delta College, encouraging students to become engaged in their campus community through co- and extra-curricular activities that would contribute to their personal and academic success. I was also an adjunct faculty member for four semesters teaching the College Success course for students needing extra guidance and support as they navigated their collegiate experience.

In April of 2015 I returned to CMU in my current role as a Global Campus Academic Advisor. I'm excited to be a part of our Central Michigan University community and advise current and future Chippewas as they pursue their degrees from CMU.
