I was born and raised in Bad Axe, Michigan. I left the small town atmosphere to attend Central Michigan University for my bachelor's degree. I graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Family Studies with a minor in Sociology. While at CMU, I worked extensively with the First Year Experience program where I fell in love with helping students to gain the tools needed to become successful in college and acclimate to the collegiate style of life and learning.
After earning my bachelor's degree, I went to Grand Valley State University to earn a Master of Education in Higher Education with a College Student Affairs Leadership concentration. While at GVSU, I gained experience advising student-athletes, interning in the Career Services office and assisting with special projects for the grant-funded Educational Support Program. In addition to GVSU, I have worked in the Student Life Office at Saint Martin's University in Lacey, Washington as well as an Advisor at Davenport University in Flint, Michigan.
In October 2011, I began working as an Academic Advisor for CMU's Global Campus. Since I am a CMU graduate, it felt like I was finally "home." I feel very lucky to be a part of such a fantastic advising staff and that every day I have the chance to help students achieve their goal of becoming fellow CMU alumni!
