CMU’s Global Campus is offering a series of 4 online courses to help current holders of the State of Michigan’s Early Childhood Education (ZA) endorsement make the transition to the new and more inclusive Early Childhood ZS (General and Special Education) endorsement.
A teacher who has earned a ZS endorsement will be able to teach in general education early childhood classrooms, inclusive early childhood classrooms, and in early childhood special education classrooms.
Holders of the ZA endorsement will take the following courses in preparation for earning the ZS endorsement:
HDF 309 Families, Schools and Communities – 3 credits
HDF 400 Developmental Assessment of Children – 3 credits
SPE 585 Early Childhood Special Education – 3 credits
HDF 301 Infant/Toddler Practicum – 1-3 credits
Important: Upon completion of these courses, students must pass the MTTC Test #106 Early Childhood (General & Special Education) to earn the ZS endorsement.
