Study Room Policies

Any policy violation may result in loss of study room privileges.

  • Please be courteous to those who have reserved the room before and after you.

  • If you do not have a reservation, you may be asked to leave the room.

  • Only current Central Michigan University faculty, staff, emeriti and students are allowed to use Library Study Rooms. 

  • Room layout should not be altered. Extra furniture is not allowed.

  • The Library study rooms have varied designations, such as quiet individual, study or collaborative group rooms. If you reserve a room and are not using it as intended, you may be asked to leave.

  • Your reservation and use of the room means that you agree with the Library's study room policies.

  • Rooms are to be used for academic purposes and quiet collaboration. They are not to be used for social gatherings, non-academic projects, classes, meetings, etc.

  • Rooms are not soundproof and users should be considerate of others.

  • Rooms may be reserved for up to 2 hours. Limited to two reservations at a time.

  • Drinks must have lids. Food is not allowed.  

  • Reservations can be made up to 16 days in advance.  

  • Please do not leave your items unattended. The Library is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

  • Room layout should not be altered. Extra furniture is not allowed. 

  • Room must be vacated thirty minutes before the Library closes.

  • Any damage should be reported immediately to the Checkout Desk staff on the 2nd floor.‚Äč
