  • Alden, Alanson. Papers, 1832-1862, include 1864 certificate for payment of military service for Samuel Alden, Alanson's son, who served in Company F, 1st Michigan Infantry. Bio: Alanson Alden was a resident of Manilla (NY), later Jonesville (Hillsdale Co., MI).


  • Aldrich, Charissa. Correspondence, 1869, from US.Treasury Dept. re: payment due her dead brother, Capt. George Hutchins of Company D, 12th Michigan Infantry. Bio: Hutchins enlisted at Hudson (MI) on Nov. 14, 1861 at age 42; re-enlisted on Dec. 28, 1863; fought at Shiloh (TN) on April 6, 1862, and died at Cincinnati (Ohio) on July 1, 1862. No info. on Charissa.


  • Bullock, Miles Wayne (1844-1914) Family Papers, 1799-1911. Papers include: photographs; obituaries; autobiographical sketch; diaries, 1862, 1864-1865; and correspondence with Company C, New York 61st comrades about feelings of soldiers and civilians during Civil War, superior officers, armistice, battles of Fredericksburg (Va.), Gettysburg (PA) Harper's Ferry (W.Va.), and Sharpsburg (Md.). Bio: Resident of Sherburne (NY), alter Marion (MI), served in New York 61st Regiment Company C.


  • Ionia County (MI). Register's Office. Cash Book of Civil War Pension/Pay Claims, 1862, 1863. 1 v. Cash book of Civil War pension/pay claims, Jan. 1, 1862-Oct. 11, 1863 in daily ledger format. Cash book includes: date, amount of money received and paid, reason paid, name of person paid with description (exs. widow or mother), name of soldier, and some attached receipts.
