Arousing Delight: Arthur Rackham, Artist and Illustrator
, celebrates the acquisition by the Clarke Library of the Mary Harbage collection of Arthur Rackham material. A scholar and a life-long collector, Mary Harbage
gathered together a group of items regarding Rackham that are of national significance. Through the supportof the Friends of the CMU Libraries, in 2005 the Harbage collection was obtained by the Clarke Library. This exhibit celebrates the work of Mary Harbage in gathering together the collection, as well as the wonderful addition of these books and other material to the Lucile Clarke Memorial Children's Library, which is housed in the Clarke.
The thanks of the Clarke Library is also extended to Professor Anne Alton, of the Central Michigan University Department of English, for her work in authoring the essay found in this web exhibit, and to Jennifer Wood, for preparing the bibliography of Rackham items found in the Clarke Library.
