Why Support the Libraries?

Dear Interested Patron,

There are many points of pride that our university holds dear as distinguishing elements of the CMU experience. One of these is the CMU Libraries.

With services accessible to everyone, no matter the academic discipline or location of study, and a dedicated staff and facility second to none, the Libraries are a strong part of what makes CMU a university that undergraduate and graduate students appreciate during their student years and long afterward.

The Libraries provide top-notch resources for supporting the university’s goals and ambitions for ongoing success and prominence. Taking into consideration the rapid developments in information technology, as well as the increasing support needs of academic programs, the Libraries’ role continues to grow as we strive to offer access and services to meet the varied and expanding needs and expectations of students and faculty, both on and off-campus, as well as online.

In addition to books, journal subscriptions, reference services, special collections, and abundant services and collections online, the Libraries also host a series of exhibits and presentations that provide cultural enrichment and engaging learning experiences.

The Libraries would appreciate your support as we pursue our mission to provide the best collections and services possible. By supporting the Libraries, you would be making an investment in the quality of educational resources for current and future students and fostering the Libraries clear priority to preserve the past while at the same time embracing and implementing new technologies for the future.

I invite you to peruse the Libraries’ website for a glimpse at some of the things that make our Libraries collections and services so good, and what you, as a donor would be supporting.

Thank you for your interest, and I hope, support. Please feel free to contact me at 989-774-1826 or by e-mail at megan.r.moreno@cmich.edu if you have any questions, or would like to learn more about making a gift to the Libraries.

Sincerely,

Megan R. Moreno
