Central Michigan University President George E. Ross’ familiar saying comes to fruition once again at commencement ceremonies this weekend.

Marking 125 years of CMU history, we can reflect on those graduating leaders through the decades.

From CMU’s first graduating class of 1896 to the modern-day throngs of thousands in caps and gowns, commencement has always been a time of tradition and change — as photos show.
