Central Michigan football fans will get a glimpse of this year's team as the Chippewas take the field April 25 – the first time under John Bonamego's leadership – for the annual spring game.

Activities for fans of all ages are planned around the game, beginning with a student obstacle course Thursday. Free Saturday events include a kids football clinic and classic car show.

Schedule of events:

April 23

  • Student obstacle course – Students will compete in an NFL stars style challenge, racing through football-related activities at the Indoor Athletic Complex turf bay from 8 to 9 p.m. The two fastest male and female students will compete in the finals at halftime of the spring football game; the winning male and female students will receive free books for the fall semester.

April 25

  • Kids Club Football Clinic – Open to kids 13 and under. Registration is scheduled for 10 to 10:45 a.m. in the Indoor Athletic Complex turf bay. A locker room tour begins at 10:45 a.m. followed by clinic stations, which run from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Players will be available for autographs and photos, apparel and memorabilia will be available, and lunch will be provided to participants.

  • Classic car show – Held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot north of the stadium. Classic car owners are invited to show off their vehicles. Car owners will also have an opportunity to win prize packages. Register a car by sending an email to cmucarshow@gmail.com.

  • Spring game - 1 p.m. kickoff at Kelly/Shorts Stadium; admission is free.
