Claire-Frances Sullivan graduated from Central Michigan University’s
musical theatre program in December and already is making a name for herself.
In April, CMU hosted Sullivan’s play “Close Encounters” during Project 586, a Studio Theatre production.
Earlier, in February, Sullivan was awarded the prestigious
National Music Theatre Award by the
Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for her musical “Fostered Love.”
In March, “Close Encounters” was performed at the 2018
Talos Festival in London, England.
Now, Sullivan is making plans for her summer fellowship as part of her Kennedy Center award.
Grateful for the faculty and her opportunities at CMU, Sullivan has advice for students.
“Jump in,” she said. “I didn’t take advantage of some great opportunities my first year or so on campus because I was so worried about saying yes. I wish I had said yes more.”
