Megan Goodwin will serve the College of Education and Human Services as associate dean beginning Monday, Dec. 2.
A search committee selected Goodwin for the position, which reports to Dean Betty Kirby and works with department chairpersons, unit directors and other members of the college leadership team.
Goodwin has been acting and interim associate dean of CEHS since 2016. Previously, she was chair of CMU's human environmental studies department, from 2010-16. She joined CMU in 1985 as director of the Human Growth and Development Laboratory.
Goodwin received master's and doctorate degrees in family and child development from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg and a bachelor's degree in home economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
David Patton, acting associate dean of the College of Science and Engineering, and Nel Boose, director of enrollment and financial operations for the College of Education and Human Services, co-chaired the 12-member search committee.
