Dean Richard Rothaus announces 10-member committee to lead internal search

Richard Rothaus, dean of Central Michigan University’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, has announced an internal search for the college’s next associate dean. The new hire will fill the position currently held by Marcy Taylor, interim associate dean since 2016.

Laura Cochrane, chair of the department of sociology, anthropology and social work, will chair the 10-member committee. Other committee members are:

  • Mensah Adinkrah, faculty, sociology, anthropology and social work.
  • Maria Chouza-Calo, faculty, world languages and cultures.
  • Mark Freed, faculty, English language and literature.
  • Sharon Kukla-Acevedo, faculty, political science and public administration.
  • Jay Martin, faculty, history.
  • Sandra Morgan, faculty, psychology.
  • Kay Purtill, staff, political science and public administration.
  • Kristen Skiver, human resources representative.
  • David Smith, faculty, philosophy and religion.

The position will be posted shortly, and the search committee plans to move forward immediately to review all candidates.
