A Central Michigan University student who died in a hit-and-run accident shortly after midnight Sunday has been identified as 17-year-old Ryan Tsatsos of Macomb.
Tsatsos was a CMU freshman and resident in Merrill Hall.
“The death of a student affects the whole university, and we send our deepest sympathies to Ryan’s parents, family and friends,” CMU President George E. Ross said.
Michigan State Police in Mount Pleasant continue to seek the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of the vehicle that struck and killed Tsatsos. An anonymous tip line has been established to aid in the investigation.
State Police say the vehicle was older and dark-colored with four doors and is likely to display damage to the front passenger side. The car was headed north on Crawford at the time of the accident.
