CMU will host a variety of events from April 23 through April 29

Central Michigan University hosts more than 500 events each year, many of which are free and open to the public. Highlighted events from Thursday, April 23, to Wednesday, April 29, include:

National Undergraduate Student Print Exchange and Exhibition — through May 11

Central Michigan University's Print Club will host its annual National Undergraduate Student Print Exchange and Exhibition in the Extended Hours Study and Student Gallery areas of Park Library during regular library hours through May 11. Contact Lisa Wilczak, 989-774-6419.

'Back to the 90s' Pinterest party — Thursday

Central Michigan University's Program Board will host a free "Back to the 90s" Pinterest party from 7 to 9 p.m. in Bovee University Center 221. Various crafts such as friendship bracelets and hair scrunchies will be available to make. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in 90s attire and enjoy a photo booth. University Theatre Dance Company concert — Thursday through Sunday

The University Theatre Dance Company at Central Michigan University will perform jazz, ballet, hip-hop, theatrical, story dance, modern dance and more during its annual concert that will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in Moore Hall's Bush Theatre. Wind Symphony and Symphony Band concert — Thursday

Central Michigan University's Wind Symphony and Symphony Band will present a free concert under the direction of James Batcheller and Pamela Klena from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Music Building's Staples Family Concert Hall. Contact John Jacobson, 989-774-3738.

'Safer Sex' bar patrol — Thursday

Central Michigan University's Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center will host a free educational "Safer Sex" bar patrol from 9 to 11 p.m. Groups will depart from Bovee University Center 106 at 9:30 p.m. Contact Anjanette Haggard, 989-774-7685.

School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts awards banquet — Friday

Central Michigan University's School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts will host its 42nd annual awards banquet from 6 to 10 p.m. at Bucks Run Golf Resort, 1559 S. Chippewa Road. Alumna Brianne Frucci-Tucker, brand ambassador of Farmers Insurance Co., will give a keynote address. Tickets are $25 and include a buffet dinner. Contact Darcy Orlik, 989-774-2694.

Open Mic Night — Friday

Central Michigan University's Kappa Kappa Psi will host a free Open Mic Night from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Music Building 156. Participants will have five minutes to perform and be entered in a prize drawing. Donations are welcome, and all proceeds will benefit bands in CMU's School of Music. Email Noah Greenia.

Central Michigan University surplus sale — Friday

Central Michigan University will sell surplus items including equipment, furniture and supplies to the public from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the Surplus Sales Building, 275 W. Bellows St. Call 989-774-3917.

Bowling Green vs. Central Michigan University baseball game — Friday

The Bowling Green State University Falcons will play the Central Michigan University Chippewas at 3:05 p.m. at Theunissen Stadium in Mount Pleasant. A student pregame tailgate will take place at 1:30 p.m. with giveaways, trivia, snacks and games. Call 989-774-3041.

Manuscript Day — Saturday

Central Michigan University's English language and literature department will host a free Manuscript Day writing workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Anspach Hall 150. The workshop is for third- through twelfth-grade students and will be taught by teachers who participated in the Chippewa River Writing Project and preservice teachers from CMU. CMU spring football game — Saturday

The Central Michigan University Chippewas will play an annual spring game at 1 p.m. in Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Festivities that will take place include a Kid's Club football clinic, student obstacle course competition and classic car show. Admission is free. Call 989-774-3041.

Mount Pleasant Renewable Energy Forum and Fair — Saturday

Central Michigan University's College of Communication and Fine Arts, Student Environmental Alliance, and the Mount Pleasant Citizens' Climate Education group will host a Renewable Energy Forum and Fair from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Engineering and Technology Building. Contact Marie Koper, 989-944-5858.

Bowling Green vs. Central Michigan University baseball game — Saturday

The Bowling Green State University Falcons will play the Central Michigan University Chippewas at 2:05 p.m. at Theunissen Stadium in Mount Pleasant. Community Service Group Day events will take place at this game. Call 989-774-3041.

Threads fashion show — Saturday

Central Michigan University's human environmental studies department will host a fashion show from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in the CMU Events Center's McGuirk Arena. Students in the apparel merchandising and design program will have their works displayed by mounted exhibition and a live runway show. Purchase tickets through CMU Ticket Central, 989-774-3045.

Horn Ensemble concert — Saturday

Central Michigan University's Horn Ensemble will present a free concert under the direction of Bruce Bonnell from 8 to 9 p.m. in the Music Building's Staples Family Concert Hall. Contact John Jacobson, 989-774-3738.

Bowling Green vs. Central Michigan University baseball game — Sunday

The Bowling Green State University Falcons will play the Central Michigan University Chippewas at 1:05 p.m. at Theunissen Stadium in Mount Pleasant. This game will celebrate Kids Day and feature special events for junior recruits and Little League players, including an autograph session. Call 989-774-3041.

Concert Choir and Chamber Singers performance — Sunday

Central Michigan University's Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will present a free performance under the direction of Nina Nash-Robertson from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Music Building's Staples Family Concert Hall. Contact John Jacobson, 989-774-3738.

Women's Chorus performance — Sunday

Ceramics Society Pottery Sale — Monday and Tuesday

Central Michigan University's Ceramics Society will host a pottery sale from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in Wightman Hall 224. Payments will be accepted in the form of checks or cash. Email Skip Bleecker.

Spring Retirement Ceremony — Tuesday

Elizabeth Lockwood Wheeler Lecture Series presents Irene O'Boyle — Tuesday
