A team of four students took first place among 15 competing universities in the nation's first case competition for health administration undergraduates, held at the Medical University of South Carolina. The teams' task was to develop and present a payment model for on-call physicians handling telestroke inquiries.
A team of finance students placed first out of 11 teams at the Risk Management Association Commercial Lending Challenge at Grand Valley State University. Students collaborated with a mentor in the banking industry to prepare for the competition by reviewing cases from the previous year and brainstorming several scenarios.
CMU made its presence known at the International Textile and Apparel Association's annual conference in Las Vegas, with several students, faculty and recent alumni exhibiting work and receiving honors.
Fashion, interior design and merchandising (FIDM) faculty member Su Kyoung An won an award for her design work, as did graduate student Li Jiang. As previously announced, FIDM faculty member Michael Mamp won the ITAA's Teaching Excellence Award.
