Contact: Jeff Johnston

The semi-annual utility shutdown for Central Michigan University’s main campus in Mount Pleasant is scheduled May 11-12, 2018.

Facilities Management designates two shutdown periods per year, weekends in May and August, to perform required utility maintenance work that may have a significant impact across campus.

The shutdowns affect hot and cold potable water and steam heating across campus, along with electrical service in the Engineering and Technology Building from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, May 11, and in the following buildings from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, May 12:

  • Finch Fieldhouse
  • Bovee University Center
  • University Art Gallery
  • Warriner Hall
  • Ronan Hall
  • Barnes Hall
  • Powers Hall
  • Wightman Hall
  • North Arts Studio

If Saturday’s work can’t be completed due to weather, work will start at the same times on Sunday, May 13.

Please ensure that all research and sensitive equipment are monitored during this time to avoid potential loss.
