Communications, marketing VP candidates to visit

Three open forums are scheduled Oct. 22-24

Three finalists for Central Michigan University's next vice president for university communications and chief marketing officer will visit campus next week.

The 14-member search committee, assisted by search firm Greenwood/Asher & Associates, has invited Rosalee Rush, John Veilleux and Rhonda DeLong to visit campus Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. They will meet with faculty, staff and students at open forums from 3-4 p.m. each day.

Here are dates and details for the candidates' visits:

Tuesday, Oct. 22: Rosalee Rush

Open forum location: Park Library Baber Room

Rush is senior associate vice president for marketing, communications and media relations at California State University, Stanislaus, in Turlock, California. Previously, she served as assistant vice president for marketing and communications, as well as director of communications, at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. Rush holds bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism, both from Michigan State University, and a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Western Michigan University. She also served as an American Council on Education Fellow from 2015-16.

Wednesday, Oct. 23: John Veilleux

Open forum location: Park Library Baber Room

Veilleux is vice president for marketing, communications and enrollment at Texas Wesleyan University, a position he has held since 2016. Prior to that, he served as vice president for marketing and communications at his current institution, as well as associate vice president for communications and community relations at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Veilleux received a bachelor's degree in journalism and advertising sequence from the University of North Texas and a master's degree in business administration from Texas Wesleyan.

Thursday, Oct. 24: Rhonda DeLong

Open forum location: Bovee University Center Rotunda

DeLong has served as director of marketing and communications at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Michigan, since 2017. Prior to her current role, she served as director of marketing and communications for the University of Michigan's School of Public Health and director of online media and brand development and chief marketing officer for Hile Creative. She also held roles at Eastern Michigan University, including interim executive director of university marketing and communications and director of web communications and new media. DeLong received a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in integrated marketing communications from Eastern Michigan University.

Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend all open forums as their schedules allow. There is no requirement to stay for the entire time, and participants may come and go as needed. Those unable to attend the forums can view a livestream of each one; links are available on the senior officer searches website.
