Central Michigan University hosts more than 500 events each year, many of which are free and open to the public. Highlighted events from Thursday, Dec. 4, to Wednesday, Dec. 10, include:

“Inside Out Project” exhibit — through Dec. 10

Central Michigan University Libraries will host a free “Inside Out Project” exhibit of portraits by CMU student photographers from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Dec. 10 in Park Library’s Third Floor Exhibit Area. Contact Janet Danek, 989-774-2165.

Honors recital — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s School of Music honors students will present a free concert from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday in the Music Building’s Staples Family Concert Hall. Contact John Jacobson, 989-774-3738.

Soup and Substance luncheon — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s Diversity Education office will host a free luncheon and discussion on the topic of a Stress Free Week: First Generation Students at noon Thursday in the Bovee University Center Terrace Rooms. Contact Cheryl Merryman, 989-774-7318.

Winter Gala Dinner in residential restaurants — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s campus dining will host a Winter Gala Dinner in all residential restaurants from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Contact Nikki Smith, 989-774-7726.

Relaxation Day — Friday

Central Michigan University’s Program Board will offer free food, massages, giveaways and stress management tips from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday in the Bovee University Center Student Lounge. Contact Kelsey McConnell, 269-903-6783.

Juletide concert — Friday and Saturday

Central Michigan University’s School of Music honors students will present a free Juletide concert from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 3:15 p.m. Saturday in the Music Building’s Staples Family Concert Hall. Contact John Jacobson, 989-774-3738.

Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Association Conference — Saturday

Central Michigan University’s speech communication and dramatic arts department will host a forensics conference involving Michigan junior high and high school students and teachers from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Moore Hall’s Bush Theatre. Contact Darcy Orlik, 989-774-2694.

SIUE vs. Central Michigan University men’s basketball game — Saturday

The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars will play the Central Michigan University Chippewas at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Pleasant. Call 989-774-3041.
