Artist Tara Wilson talk — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s Ceramics Society and art and design department will host artist Tara Wilson for a free talk from 5 to 6 p.m. in Wightman Hall 142. Contact Greg Stahly, 989-774-1157.

The Washington Center information session — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s political science and public administration department will host a free informational session from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Anspach Hall 155. A representative from The Washington Center will attend and address students interested in an internship or academic seminar in Washington, D.C. Contact Joyce Baugh, 989-774-3475.

Susan Stan to open the ‘International Children’s Books’ exhibit — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s Clarke Historical Library will open the free exhibit “International Children’s Books: Celebrating the Recent Gifts” at 8 a.m. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through August. A Speaker Series talk given by retired CMU English language and literature professor Susan Stan will take place at 7 p.m. in Park Library Auditorium, and a reception will follow in Clarke Historical Library. Symphonic Wind Ensemble concert — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble will present a free winter concert with New York Philharmonic Orchestra bass trombonist and CMU alumnus George Curran conducted by John E. ‘The Atmospheric Effect’ ceramics workshop — Thursday and Friday

Central Michigan University’s Ceramics Society and art and design department will offer a free two-day workshop with artists Dick Lehman, Mark Goertzen and Tara Wilson from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the North Art Studio. Contact Greg Stahly, 989-774-1157.

Comedian Adam Grabowski performance — Friday

Western Michigan vs. Central Michigan University women’s basketball game — Saturday

Concert Choir and Chamber Singers concert — Sunday

Women’s Chorus concert — Sunday

David Garcia Project Open Session — Monday

Central Michigan University’s Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center will host a free David Garcia Project Open Session from 7 to 10 p.m. in Bovee University Center 125 for those interested in participating in activities that simulate learning difficulties and auditory, physical or visual impairments. Professor Hope May talk at Clarke Historical Library — Wednesday
