‘New Age Activism’ program — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s Multicultural Academic Student Services office will host a free panel discussion titled “New Age Activism” from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bovee University Center Auditorium. Contact D’Wayne Jenkins, 989-774-3945.

Guest readings by author Steve Tomasula — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s College of Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences will host author Steve Tomasula for free readings from his new collection of fiction, “Once Human: Stories,” from 8 to 9 p.m. in Park Library’s Baber Room. Contact Matthew Roberson, 989-774-2585.

Wind Symphony and Symphony Band concert — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s Wind Symphony and Symphony Band will present a free winter concert from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Music Building’s Staples Family Concert Hall. Contact John Jacobson, 989-774-3738.

‘Safer Sex’ bar patrol — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center will host a free educational “Safer Sex” bar patrol from 9 to 11 p.m. Groups will depart from Bovee University Center 118 at 9:30 p.m. Contact Anjanette Haggard, 989-774-7685.

Sport Management Association Conference — Friday and Saturday

Central Michigan University’s Sport Management Association student organization will host the 2015 Sport Management Association Conference from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Warriner Hall’s Plachta Auditorium and the Bovee University Center Rotunda. MAC Indoor Championship men’s track and field meets — Friday and Saturday

The Central Michigan University Chippewas will host the MAC Indoor Championship men’s and women’s track and field meets at 10 a.m. Friday and 9:45 a.m. Saturday in Mount Pleasant. Call 989-774-3041.

Juried Student Art Exhibition — Friday through March 28

Central Michigan University’s art department will host its free, annual Juried Student Art Exhibition from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays in the University Art Gallery’s Main and West galleries through March 28. ‘The PwC Women’s Leadership Series’ webcast and discussion — Friday

Central Michigan University’s accounting department will host a free webcast, “The Confidence to Lead,” from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in the Powers Hall Ballroom as part of “Aspire to Lead: The PricewaterhouseCoopers Women’s Leadership Series.” A face-to-face discussion with PwC partners from the Detroit office will take place after the webcast. Science of Advanced Materials seminar — Friday

Central Michigan University’s Science of Advanced Materials Ph.D. program will host Rémi Beaulac from Michigan State University for a free seminar titled “Rethinking the Quantum Dot: Bringing Nitrides into the Quantum Confined Regime” at 1 p.m. in Dow Science Complex 102. Institute for Great Lakes Research student research symposium — Friday

Geography seminar — Friday

Journalism Rocks II workshop — Saturday

The Band Perry concert — Saturday

‘Eat Well, Live Well’ health and wellness event — Monday

ComiConference — Tuesday

Central Michigan University’s English language and literature department, Honors Program office, Clarke Historical Library, and Office for Institutional Diversity will host a free ComiConference focused on diversity and women in the comic industry from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. in Park Library Auditorium. ‘Big Hero 6’ movie showing — Tuesday

Author Michelle Ann Abate talk — Tuesday

Central Michigan University’s Clarke Historical Library and English language and literature department will host author Michelle Ann Abate for a keynote address as part of a free, daylong symposium on graphic novels from 7 to 9 p.m. in Park Library Auditorium.
