​​Central Michigan University hosts more than 500 events each year, many of which are free and open to the public. Highlighted events from Thursday, Jan. 15, to Wednesday, Jan. 21, include:

‘Photography: Process, People & Preservation’ exhibit — through Jan. 30

Clarke Historical Library will host the free exhibit “Photography: Process, People & Preservation” from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Jan. 30. Contact Lisa Wilczak, 989-774-6419.

‘Circumference of a Squirrel’ theater production — Thursday

University Theatre will present a free production of “Circumference of a Squirrel: A Riff with an Inner Tube” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Moore Hall’s Theatre On The Side. Contact Kiarra Butler.

Faculty artist Andrew Spencer concert — Thursday

Central Michigan University’s School of Music percussion artist Andrew Spencer will perform in concert from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the Music Building’s Staples Family Concert Hall. Purchase tickets through CMU Ticket Central, 989-774-3045.

Jack Skoog Dual men’s track and field meet at Central Michigan University — Friday

The Central Michigan University Chippewas will host the Jack Skoog Dual men’s track and field meet at 4 p.m. Friday in Mount Pleasant. Call 989-774-3041.

Eastern Michigan/Seattle Pacific vs. Central Michigan University gymnastics meet — Sunday

The Eastern Michigan University Eagles and Seattle Pacific University Falcons will meet the Central Michigan University Chippewas at 7 p.m. Sunday in Mount Pleasant. Call 989-774-3041.

CommUnity Peace Brunch — Monday

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service — Monday

Central Michigan University’s Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center will host a Day of Service as part of Martin Luther King Jr. Week from noon to 2 p.m. Monday in the Bovee University Center Rotunda. Call 989-774-7685.

Martin Luther King Jr. Peace March and Vigil — Monday

Central Michigan University’s Multicultural Academic Student Services office will host a Martin Luther King Jr. Peace March and Vigil starting at 3 p.m. Monday from the Bovee University Center. The vigil will be held in downtown Mount Pleasant. Contact D’Wayne Jenkins, 989-774-3945.

Civil rights documentary showing — Tuesday

Central Michigan University’s Multicultural Academic Student Services office will host a free showing of the documentary “Eyes on the Prize: America’s Civil Rights Years” as part of Martin Luther King Jr. Week at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Bovee University Center Room 108. Study Abroad Expo — Wednesday

Buffalo vs. Central Michigan University men’s basketball game — Wednesday
