Central Michigan University hosts more than 500 events each year, many of which are free and open to the public. Highlighted events from Thursday, Nov. 27, to Wednesday, Dec. 3, include:

Department of Art and Design Fall 2014 BAA/BA/BA Exhibition — through Dec. 3

Central Michigan University’s art and design department will showcase works by fine art students in the Extended Hours Study and Student Gallery daily through Dec. 3; click here for hours. Contact Lisa Wilczak, 989-774-6419.

Grand Canyon vs. Central Michigan University men’s basketball game — Saturday

The Grand Canyon University Antelopes will play the Central Michigan University Chippewas at 6 p.m. Saturday in Mount Pleasant. Call 989-774-3041.

Central Michigan University printmaking exhibition — Monday through Jan. 22

Central Michigan University’s Park Library will host a free exhibit of printmaking works by students in the Extended Hours Study and Student Gallery daily through Jan. 22. Click here for hours. Contact Lisa Wilczak, 989-774-6419.

Honors recital — Tuesday

Central Michigan University’s School of Music honors students will present a free concert from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday in the Music Building’s Staples Family Concert Hall. Contact John Jacobson, 989-774-3738.

Symphony Band and University Band concert — Tuesday

Central Michigan University’s Symphony Band and University Band will present a free concert conducted by James Batcheller and Pam Klena from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Music Building’s Staples Family Concert Hall. Contact John Jacobson, 989-774-3738.

Ceramic Society fall pottery sale — Wednesday through Dec. 5

Central Michigan University’s Ceramic Society will host a fall pottery sale from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Dec. 5 in Wightman Hall 224. Contact Skip Bleecker.

New Venture Competition workshop — Wednesday

The College of Business Administration’s Institute for Entrepreneurship at Central Michigan University will host a New Venture Competition workshop, “Customer Validation of Your Solution Hypothesis,” from 1 to 3 p.m. in Grawn Hall 150. Contact Brenda Pung, 989-774-3270.
