Opus XVIII is set to take center stage Saturday, April 18, in Central Michigan University’s Music Building. Talented students chosen by audition will present a sampling and showcase of CMU’s School of Music wind, orchestral, jazz and choral ensembles in a collage concert.
An annual gala, proceeds from Opus XVIII will be used to fund scholarships, equipment and travel expenses for music students.
“CMU is proud to showcase the talent of our student musicians,” said Elizabeth Ross, CMU’s first lady and chair of Opus XVIII. “We are pleased to share our students’ tremendous accomplishments and look forward to an elegant evening filled with outstanding musical entertainment.”
The evening will begin with a strolling reception at 6 p.m. followed by the student collage concert at 7:30 p.m. Dancing, a martini bar and dessert reception with the featured students will start at 8:30 p.m. and conclude the evening.
