Contact: Heather Smith

The year was 1991. The average price of a dozen eggs was 85 cents. George H.W. Bush was president of the United States. The number of personal computers connected to the internet finally had reached 1 million, and Crain's Detroit Business debuted its 40 Under 40 list.

Since then, more than 30 Central Michigan University graduates have been named to the list. In honor of its silver anniversary and the accomplishments of our alumni, here is a look at the CMU Chippewas who have been recognized by Crain's Detroit Business — from the first recipient in 1991 through 2016 award winners Lisa Nuszkowski and Stephen Thornhill.
