As students return to campus for classes, Central Michigan University will host several big events this month.
Jim Belushi and the Board of Comedy to perform Jan. 17
Comedian Jim Belushi and the Board of Comedy will take the stage in Warriner Hall’s Plachta Auditorium Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. for an improvisational comedy show. Belushi, younger brother of late comedic actor John Belushi, will perform with fellow comedians Joshua Funk, Jon Barinholtz, Brad Morris and CMU alumnus Larry Joe Campbell — who co-starred with Belushi on the popular, long-running ABC sitcom “According to Jim.”
General admission ticket prices for students are $5 and $25 for the public. Students can purchase reserved seating for $10 and $30 for the public. Tickets can be purchased online or at Ticket Central in the CMU Events Center.
CMU hosts 23rd annual Night of Louisiana Jan. 25
CMU will host the 23rd annual Night of Louisiana event Jan. 25 in Finch Fieldhouse. The annual evening of Louisiana-inspired food, dancing and live music will include performances by Jeffrey Broussard and The Creole Cowboys and The Revelers. Cajun food will be available with the purchase of a dinner ticket.
Tickets can be purchased for $25 in advance by calling (888) 268-0111. Tickets are $30 at the door. Dinner tickets are sold separately for $12.
Max and Emily’s winter concert debuts Jan. 28 with Jeff Daniels
Actor and CMU alumnus Jeff Daniels will expand the Max and Emily’s Summer Concert Series with a winter show Jan. 28. Daniels, a local favorite, will perform original songs and share humorous stories in Warriner Hall’s Plachta Auditorium at 7 p.m. Daniels has performed twice in the history of the summer concert series, in 2010 and 2011.
A new set of free tickets will be available at Max and Emily's in downtown Mount Pleasant at the end of the week. Those interested in attending must visit Max and Emily's to pick up their tickets.
