Central Michigan University and the CMU Chapter of the Police Officers Association of Michigan reached an agreement Monday on a new three-year collective bargaining agreement effective July 1, 2017, and expiring June 30, 2020.
The new agreement, which covers the university's 14 police officers and one service officer, provides:
- Maintenance of current wage rates in the first year of the contract;
- A university contribution of 87 percent of members' core insurance plan premiums;
- The same wage and health care contribution adjustments in years two and three as those provided to professional and administrative employees; and
- Three additional paid closure days during the 2017 year-end holiday closure.
