The CMU Faculty Association has ratified a new five-year collective bargaining agreement with Central Michigan University following member voting Thursday and Friday.
The agreement with the association, which represents about 700 faculty members, is effective July 25, 2014, through June 30, 2019. It provides:
- Annual wage increases ranging from 2 percent to 2.9 percent;
- Continued insurance contributions, with increased flexibility in the FA’s selection of health insurance plans; and
- A five-year lifespan — the first contract of this duration between the parties.
CMU has settled all three collectively bargained agreements that expired this summer. Within the last month, the university also reached agreement with the CMU Chapter of the Police Officers Association of Michigan and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The CMU Faculty Association is a unit of the Michigan Education Association.
