Central Michigan University today announced the appointment of Stephen Kull as associate vice president of advancement, effective July 11. Kull will collaborate with the campus community to generate gifts to advance the university's mission and reputation.
"Stephen's record of exceeding fundraising goals and ability to work with donors to develop new opportunities that serve students, faculty, staff and alumni speaks for itself," said Bob Martin, CMU's vice president of advancement. "We look forward to having him join our team."
Kull began his development career at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He then joined the team at Blackburn College in Illinois, where he was responsible for building an entirely new planned giving program. He most recently served as senior director of development for Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Kull brings a wealth of experience working with donors to cultivate relationships and major gift pipelines. Over the course of his career, he has raised millions for higher education programs and projects.
Kull will report to Martin and be responsible for providing leadership to constituency development and prospect research, as well as corporate and foundation relations. His duties will include working with major donors, identifying new opportunities to raise the profile of the university and contributing to CMU's overall campaign strategy.
"I look forward to working with faculty, staff and friends of CMU to continue to strengthen the one-of-a-kind experiences we offer as an institution of higher learning," said Kull.
