chigan University graduate student Jason Gagnon earned a top national honor in fashion and apparel design at the 70th annual Make It With Wool sewing competition.
Gagnon, who is studying for a master’s degree in
apparel product development and merchandising technology, won the fashion and apparel design category for a Balenciaga-inspired coat dress with digital textile printing on a cashmere/silk blend.
Gagnon received a scholarship and was invited to be a fashion ambassador for the competition as a result of his win.
Make It With Wool is sponsored by leading U.S. sheep industry organizations and funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to promote wool fabrics, yarns and fibers.
