The President's Office invites all faculty, staff, alumni and community members to an appreciation reception for Central Michigan University President George E. Ross and Mrs. Elizabeth Ross from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, in the Bovee University Center Rotunda.
The Rosses began wearing maroon and gold in 2002 when George Ross was hired as vice president for finance and administrative services. After a brief departure for his presidency of Alcorn State University in Mississippi, they returned home to Mount Pleasant in 2010, where they have led the CMU community in achieving a multitude of milestones.
From the construction of the Biosciences Building and renovations of Anspach and Grawn halls, to an increase in minority enrollment and accelerated investments in scholarships, the Rosses have guided CMU through the past eight years with sophistication and grace.
As the Rosses prepare to step down July 31 from their president and first lady roles, they wish to recognize the One CMU family during the reception. In their words, "Every achievement has been made and every goal accomplished because of the commitment and dedication of faculty and staff to creating the best possible learning environment for CMU students."
