The Central Michigan University Board of Trustees will be asked to approve the 2014–2015 operating budget when they meet in formal session Tuesday.
The $462 million plan includes nearly $45.6 million in scholarships and financial aid and $266 million for salaries. It shows state appropriations at $79 million.
Other items to come before the CMU trustees include:
- A $5.7 million deferred maintenance budget for campus upkeep and repair;
- A proposal to rename the chemistry department to the department of chemistry and biochemistry; and
- A recommendation that a department of entrepreneurship be established in the College of Business Administration.
The board will meet as a committee of the whole Tuesday, consolidating committee meetings normally scheduled the day prior to the trustees’ formal session.
Tuesday’s meeting is open to the public and begins at 9:30 a.m. in the President’s Conference Room of the Bovee University Center.
