Candidates completing requirements for a degree in December or May will participate in their respective ceremonies. Candidates completing requirements for a degree in August will participate in the following December ceremony. Exceptions to this policy will only be made if there are extenuating circumstances prohibiting students from participating in the assigned commencement ceremony. Students who would like to request a change to their ceremony date must complete the Commencement Participation Exception Request form (see below).
Time Change Policy
Candidates will participate in the ceremony time in which their degree is listed. To view a breakdown of degrees for May 2021 commencement, please click here. Changing ceremony times is only permitted for graduates requesting to be in the same ceremony as an immediate family member or if there is an unavoidable conflict with the assigned ceremony time. Students who would like to request a change to their ceremony time must complete the Commencement Participation Exception Request form (see below).
Commencement Participation Exception Request Form
In order for a change in commencement ceremony date and/or time to be considered, graduates must complete the Commencement Participation Exception Request form no later than two weeks prior to the ceremony date. Requests received after this date will not be considered. Students will receive denial or approval to their request by email within five business days. Please note that exceptions to these policies are very rarely granted and are only granted for extenuating circumstances. All decisions to this request are final.
