Are there any extra tickets available for commencement?
No. We regret limiting admittance to the ceremony, however due to the number of graduates and the capacity of McGuirk Arena, we are unable to provide additional tickets.
Do children require a ticket for commencement?
Children who are under the age of three and will sit on a lap for the entire ceremony do not require a ticket.
I'm graduating in August, what commencement ceremony do I attend?
August graduates are invited to return to campus to participate in the December commencement ceremony. August graduates are not permitted to participate in the May commencement ceremonies due to space limitations and the requirement to maintain the academic integrity of the ceremony. In order for an exception to this policy to be considered, students must complete the Commencement Participation Exception Request Form. Please note that exceptions are very rarely granted and are only granted for extreme extenuating circumstances.
Can I switch ceremony times?
Changing ceremony times is only permitted for graduates requesting to be in the same ceremony as an immediate family member or if there is an unavoidable conflict with the assigned ceremony time. In order for a change in ceremony time to be considered graduates must complete the Commencement Participation Exception Request Form. Please note that exceptions are very rarely granted and are only granted for extreme extenuating circumstances.
How long is the ceremony?
Each ceremony lasts approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
