Active learning empowers students

CMU’​s active learning classrooms — ​​equipped with state-of-the-art technology — help faculty engage students in learning. Profe​ssor Mark Francek uses these classrooms to pair brief lectures with activities that push students to think critically, solve problems and work collaboratively — building knowledge alongside the soft skills they need to succeed in the workplace.​

CMU has invested in active learning classrooms in the Dow Science Complex, Pearce Hall, College of Medicine and Biosciences Building.​​​
