
As a freshman, Austin Brittain enrolled in Creation in 3-D, an art elective, in order to fuse his mechanical engineering technology major with an interest in digital design.
His experience in the course culminated with the
creation of a 3-D printed prosthetic hand for an 8-year-old boy.
CMU is the first Midwest public university to open a large-scale 3-D printing facility focusing on the arts and human services.
